Strolling is striving for goals

When the goings seem good and fair

The steering of destiny

Is like mark of juvenile

 

In dressing the battle line

There is a gold medal

To contend and defend

This is the hard sentence of joy

 

And that’s an enviable position

To meet up the demands

Of the people in Ubene community

But Jealousy is like a burning fire

 

A heart

Seared with hot Iron

Dressing the wound of the past

Can never be mended again

 

To tolerate is easy

But to defend is Joy and Pride

Can one still go on molestation?

And pretend to be a saint?

 

I don’t understand

The strength to defend

An enviable desire

To demand and admire (something you want)

 

The collection of love

Street fighter and steady quarrels

Can be dangerous

In a strange land or environment

 

Mind your word!

Lest you become a victim

Of Circumstance and failure

In variable dimension

 

Go to ant

And learn to design

The ways to the top

And win the battle line

 

Creation is good

But has no room

For a dull moment

This is a bitter truth

 

And I must say it

To bring to order

The destroyed plumb line

Of Dignity

 

Mark your words

And be on guard

Because the nuisance

Are around the corner and crannies

 

To take what belongs to you

In a platter of jealousy and envy

Be on guard!

Says the Almighty

 

DESCRIPTION: The poem security is an ode type of poem that narrates the ordeals of the Hero, contemplated for a set back and the desire to re-design one’s destiny but now cautious and conscious of security measures to go about it. It is a quartet (four line poems) we are going take the poem line by line in description:

 

From line 1-4: The poet deployed a figure of speech known as simile that uses words “like” and “as” used as comparison to liken the nature which the verb “strolling” throws at destiny. The poet is trying to let us know the important of being busy in a conducive atmosphere; especially when thing are going fine in terms of business transaction. And he makes us to understand that such activities are the steering that controls one’s destiny which he also described to be a juvenile exuberance (meaning the full bloom strong life of a youth).

 

From line 5-8: The poet also point out the early stage of planning for the goals set ahead by such person, though along the line, there must be obstacle to discourage the goal. But notwithstanding the oppositions; the pace setter must has a target to aim and achieve. And these targets forms his aims and objectives as weapon to contend for the gold medal which is the ultimate target of every competitor; though a hard sentence of Joy as described by the poem at the early stage but not at the end because of the oppositions and obstacles from competitors.

 

From line 9-12: The poet also described the target of this person to be an enviable position that demands the hard work of meeting up a special request of a particular people of a similar norms, believe, culture, language but strange attitude; which the poet named such people to be “Ubene Community”. But the prevailing jealousy is a hindrance from this person’s oppositions which the poet described as a “burning fire”, ceased the position.

 

From line 13-16: The poet described the attitude of such jealousy to be a heart seared with hot iron to dress the wound of the past events, and said that such heart can never be healed or mended again.

 

From line 17-20: The poet said that it is a common thing to tolerate the insult and opposition to such aspiration but to defend the ordeals and pressures that come with such oppositions is a prideful and Joyful attitude to the plight of the victim. The poet asked “how can one still go on molestation and pretend to be a saint?”

 

From line 21-24:  The poet said that the victim assumes misunderstanding of such strength to defend an instinctual behavior that demands and desires what he sees.

 

From line 25-28: The poet describing such desires to be a collective of love affairs, which might trigger a future street fighters and steady quarrels in a strange land or environment.

 

From line 29-32: The poet said that such actions demand security measures; especially to mind ones words; lest one become a victim of circumstances and failure, especially in variable dimension.

 

From line 33-36: The poet said that the victim should go to the ant and learn hard work on the way to re-design one’s destiny to the top position without assistance but through self-effort and self-employed because of such oppositions. The poet concludes that this is the only way and measure to win the battle line.

 

From line 37-40: The poet said that what God had created is good and wonderful; but there is no room for dull moment as he likens the phrases to be some bitter truth.

 

From line 41-44: The poet made us to understand that there is already a destroyed plumb line of dignity; which need to be restored through hard work

 

From line 45-48:. The poet said that you should mark your words and be security conscious over what you say; especially in revealing secrets because there are oppositions around you as nuisance to copy and paste your dreams as well as pursue them and make money with them. So be security conscious and limit your words.

 

From line 49-52: The poet said that these opposes are eager to assume your position in Jealousy and envy which may put your life at their risk of trying to eliminate you because of these good fortunes. So be on your guard.
